Hi All
What is the opinion of the forum regarding Steri Hood? Do you think it will do the job of complying with the regulations? It seems to be me that its too good to be true!

Hi Xenis,
I personally think it is very good, well thought out and actually a very practical solution for the majority of smaller dental practices.
As you know it’s an area I have a particular interest in and when someone like myself wants to actually DO best practice, it’s the only set-up that allows me to seamlessly integrate products that actually deactivate Prions and as a practice that does Surgery and Implant work too, even though the prion-risks are minute and theoretical etc, current HTM01-05 so-called best practice would be a step backwards for a Practice like mine that places Implants IMHO, because most Implant surgical instruments and burs are re-used and any risks of baking proteins and bone onto these isn’t good and isn’t clever.
Although they are a local company to me, I have no financial interest in them but as they produce everything they are able to follow my particular evidence-based designs/methods to the letter, which they have been very receptive to!
I was hoping HTM01-05 would have become more evidence-based by now, especially for surgical/invasive procedures, but as it hasn’t then alternative/more credible solutions may have to come from elsewhere, I suppose.
Yours progressively,
Tony.
